When you're preparing to go on holiday it's a good idea to make a check list of the things that you need to do and pack before you set out. There's nothing worse than setting off and realising you've forgotten something, especially if it's something very important like your passport! Think about what you'll need and make a list to help you remember everything you need!

Packing appropriate clothing is important too. Find out what the climate is like in the place you're visiting and make sure you bring the right type of clothing. If you're visiting a very warm destination then lightweight shorts and t shirts will be in order, as will a pair of sunglasses. The importance of wearing sunglasses in the bright sun cannot be understated. Make sure you've got a decent pair of sunglasses with proper UV protection whilst you're on holiday. Sun cream is also very important as you definitely want to avoid getting sun burned at all costs!

Other useful items you might want to take with you could include a phrase book, which might help you to communicate in areas where English isn't spoken. If you're visiting a city then bringing a map would also be an excellent idea as it is very easy to get lost in town and cities you're unfamiliar with. If you're properly prepared then you'll definitely enjoy your holiday!
